Xanthate Duggirala

About meXD

I am an Engineer turned Neuropsychologist pursuing PhD at BAND-lab, Maastricht University.

Research

Voice adaptation and vocal learning

My work broadly focusses on the interactions among cognitive control, emotions and personality.  Understanding the influence of emotion on cognitive control is crucial as both affective and cognitive systems are intrinsically connected and enable coherent behaviour in real life.  In this context, I use fMRI to delineate valence-specific (positive and negative emotions) brain networks during cognitive conflict processing, and further explore the influence of personality traits (such as temperament), and emotional states (e.g., depression, anxiety, stress etc.) on behavioural responses (fast or slow response) in different emotional contexts during conflict processing.
